It would appear that another aspiring combatant heeded my global summons. You traversed the serrated peaks of the Hyperborean Mountains, dodged the boulders thrown by angry yetis, and outran the hammers of the avalanche giants, yet your true challenges lie ahead, my friend.
I am Hogarth, Keeper of the Frost Ring. And you? Well, you are nobody. At least until you earn your fame against an array of angry adversaries. In each round, you will face four ferocious foes and a boss, each of whom has the same ambition as you, friend: victory at all costs.
Your progress in the Frost Ring will determine your rewards. You can "cash out" at any time and walk away with the goodies you have earned.
Carefully choose which allies and magic you wish to take with you into the Ring. Once you begin, you will not be able to marshal new forces.
The audience craves entertainment. To make sure they get the best show possible, you can only suffer a few losses before you're done, tossed out into the merciless winter cold! Are you ready, champion? Greatness awaits!

Hogarth’s challenges
Cerebral Fulmination
Not everyone can be born a genius. I understand that some folks need a bit of help in the brains department. You did manage to remember to put your pants on this morning, did you? Well done, well done indeed!
(For this challenge, each champion will start the match with the card Cerebral Fulmination already in play.)
Shards Aplenty
Give the people what they want! Every showman worth his salt lives by this motto. Of course, audiences have the attention span of a baby yeti. So what do you say we speed things along a bit this time, yes?
(For this challenge, each champion will randomly receive 2/0, 0/2, or 1/1 resources at the start of their first turn.)
Inferno
I've officially had my fill of folks complaining about the cold. This place is called the Frost Ring, what did you people expect? Still, let nobody accuse Hogarth of indifference to the needs of the rabble. You want heat? You got it!
(For this challenge, each champion will start the match with the card Inferno already in play.)
Swarm! Swarm!
I like a good Ragefire as much anyone, believe me. But the audience tires of fancy magic, sometimes they just want to see a horde of troops bashing each other's teeth out! This time, let's get as many bodies as we can fit into the Frost Ring slamming, biting, and stabbing each other. And bear in mind, if you chicken out with an Extinction, you'll DESERVE all the boos the crowd throws at you!
(For this challenge, troops will have cost -1 in all zones.)
Rage
My friend Mulug has spent the past few thousand years as a frozen head, unable to move or speak. I'm sure you can imagine that when I found him, Mulug was a touch cranky. To honor my orc friend's irascible disposition, I want to see you get angry!
(For this challenge, troops gain Rage 1 in all zones.)
The Primal of Luck
Ah, Kismet. They call her the Primal of Luck and Fate's Mistress. Those with the fortune of having glimpsed her true face say she is as alluring as she is capricious. Luck surely plays a significant role in the outcome of the encounters within the Frost Ring, does it not? Or are the victor and the vanquished determined even before the coin is flipped? (For this challenge, your champion will play the card Kismet's Reverie for no cost.)
The Ol' Switcheroo
Before you step foot inside the arena, it is important to have a meticulously planned strategy already prepared. Do you agree? Good! That's why we're taking all of your careful preparation away and using it against you. Off you go!
(For this challenge, you will swap your deck, champion, and equipment with your opponent.)
The Pacts
If you agree to step into the Frost Ring, you know you are going to experience pain and pleasure, life and death. Why not use them all to your advantage?
(For this challenge, each champion will start the match with either Pact of Life or Pact of Pain already in play.)
Infernal Professor
My mother always told me, "Gerhardt, why did I let your father talk you into naming you Gerhardt?" She would also tell me, "Son, there is no such thing as a wasted education." Fortunately, I dropped out of the Great Academy of Cerulea before I had a chance to prove her wrong.
(For this challenge, each champion will play the card Infernal Professor for no cost.)
Charge!
You are a unique and exquisite snowflake, yes? That's what every rube who comes to throw their carcass into the Frost Ring believes, so why would you be any different? Well, now's the chance to prove yourself, snowflake. Let's juice up this next battle and give the crowd a real show!
(For this challenge, all resources in all zones gain an additional charge.)
Opponents
All 109 opponents the game’s files hold, A to Z, each with its champion’s painting, starting health and hand, and its deck. Which opponent fought in which tier isn’t recorded: the server chose each fight. 46 cards in their decks (13 different ones) are no longer in the game’s data, and are counted but not named.
