About Hex Codex

A free, non-commercial fan archive of HEX: Shards of Fate: every collectible card, champion, set and format, built from the game's own data so it stays faithful to what the game showed.

Why it exists

HEX: Shards of Fate's official servers shut down on 31 December 2020. Players keep it alive on the community's private server, Dingler, which runs the same game client. Hex Codex is a reference for veterans and newcomers alike: look up any card, see where it was printed and which formats allow it, and build and share decks.

Where everything comes from

  • Card text, rules text, types, costs, stats and sets are read from the game's own data files in its final client.
  • Ban and watch lists come from the game's last official ban list (see Formats).
  • Cards and champions are rebuilt from the game's own pieces: its card frame, the painting and the final card text, drawn the way the game's own card builder draws them. One card has no painting in the game's files (Cerulean Mirror Knight's alternate art): it shows the official image the game's makers published in their fan kits, labelled "Official image".
  • Every card page credits the card's artist.
  • Legacy Tournaments holds every recorded PvP tournament deck from October 2016 to April 2020, from Fred's hexpvptools records, joined to the site's own cards and champions by the game's own IDs.
  • The community archetypes on FRA Decks group the Frost Ring Arena decks players saved on HexTCGBrowser, a HEX fan site, from 2015 to 2019, from its database backup, joined to the site's own cards by the game's own IDs. Only the decks their players made public are listed; private decks count only in the numbers.

Takedowns and corrections

If you hold rights to anything shown here and want it changed or removed, or you spot a mistake (a wrong card text, a missing printing, a bad picture), message RomoSJR on Discord. Removal requests from rights holders are acted on promptly.

Legacy Tournaments shows players' in-game names as the tournament records have them. Any player can ask the same way for their name to be removed, and it will be. The same goes for a deck in the FRA Decks community archetypes: ask, and it will no longer be listed.
